We are taught from the time we are young children in most households that we need to be strong and not cave in. Stand up for what is important to us. Many of us have a fire that drives us day after day to succeed in our lives.
We often don’t meet our goals and we might choose to label this shortcoming as a failure depending on what our belief systems are.
We may say to ourselves, “I am not good enough”, or “I will never reach my goals”.

Letting go and letting God take over is not as easy for some of us that are wired in this stubborn and persistent way. We appreciate the concept, but we still have that resistance towards letting go. There is a saying that says, “What we resist, persists.”
Is it possible that we can tap into that vein of faith and believe that our destiny will unfold naturally and fully with the greatest of ease if we let go?

It is possible. I am seeing the changes happen in my life with an increasing frequency. I am experiencing abundance and an overwhelming peace that is telling me that I am never alone and that I am on my way to great things in fulfilling my destiny. I am not sure exactly what that destiny is, but I know it is coming. It is a knowingness that I want to share with many people.

I used to have a motivational poster that I hung in my office(s) and on many of the boats that I have captained. It was a picture of cyclists riding out of the sunset over the crest of a hill. The sun was behind their backs and you can only see their silhouettes. At the bottom of the poster it says: Perseverance. I have been persevering for the majority of my adult life. I looked up the meaning of the word perseverance, and the definition was surprising to me. There are two examples… one that I followed forever, and another that I am following now.

per·se·ver·ance

1.
Steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
2.
Theology . Continuance in a state of grace to the end, leading to eternal salvation.

Now, I can almost guess that some of you might be thinking, there is no such thing as Eternal Salvation. That is not the point. It is about finding the grace in your life and letting go of the ego driven directives in your mind that will continue to disappoint, dismantle and dissolve your dreams. It is the voice that continues to bombard you with the mind chatter of inadequacy and failure. You must let it go.

It’s not that hard to do… feel free to e-mail me and I will share with you my secrets of surrender. You all have it in you, all you have to do is knock, and the door will open.
